Networking Lunch (Adelaide) - From Languishing to Flourishing - Engaging Your Community
The Networking
We invite you to take a couple of hours out of your day to connect with others in the industry to discuss high level topics of real importance, develop new relationships and gain critical information. This is a rare opportunity to network with other CEOs and senior management professionals from charities, associations and other non-profit organisations. Ample opportunity will be given for you to discuss issues and network with others.
The Topic
Community engagement enables individuals to be proactive in managing the necessary changes to create a happy, productive and flourishing environment for all. At this Networking event, not-for-profit professional Vanessa Leane will reflect on the realities of working from a strength based framework and the lessons learned on her journey towards creating a more equitable society through engaging communities. From sports, trades, education, professional or charitable communities – the message remains clear – we need to understand and utilise the transformative process of flourishing at an individual and social level. Everyone has strengths but often they are hidden and undervalued due to a lack of innovative strategies. Vanessa will highlight the importance of utilising an empowering leadership model to create new innovative opportunities which enables individuals to grow and develop even in the most constraining circumstances.
The Speaker
As a community practitioner for St John Ambulance, Vanessa Leane has pioneered the innovative community program St John's Circle of Friends at a grass roots level. Vanessa will share with you many inspiring stories and explain how innovative strategies work to empower older people and volunteers to create a flourishing intergenerational legacy for our communities.
The mission of ‘how to empower the strengths of people’ has always been a driving motivation in Vanessa’s personal, professional and academic career. This motivation to understand ‘how’ has fostered further PhD study in Resilience and Positive and Community Psychology.
