Across the sector, membership numbers are up, retention is improving, and confidence is growing. But those results aren’t coming from enthusiasm, intent, or good ideas alone. This executive roundtable explores what’s really driving member results right now.

Drawing on current benchmark insights and peer experience, the discussion will focus on how some associations are translating effort into outcomes - while others are working just as hard without the same lift.

Through facilitated roundtable discussion, participants will compare notes on how leaders are seeing what’s working, identifying friction early, and acting consistently across the member journey. The conversation is practical, candid, and designed to help leaders sharpen where to focus next to sustain results.

Graham Catt is the Chief Executive Officer of Independent Schools Australia and has 20 years’ experience leading member-based organisations in sectors including education, business, health, animal health, and agriculture.

After an early career in communications, including as co-founder and director of an agency, Graham joined the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) as a General Manager, and subsequently held CEO roles with the Australian Veterinary Association, Pharmaceutical Society of Australia, and the Canberra Business Chamber.

Graham was President of the Australasian Society of Association Executives (AuSAE) from 2016 – 2019 and currently serves on the Board of St John Ambulance ACT and Education Services Australia (ESA). His qualifications include a master’s degree in literature, MBA from Macquarie Graduate School of Management, and executive leadership programs with the University of Melbourne and London Business School.
