Position: Communications and Events Associate

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Salary: Competitive salary (Salary packaging available)

Status: 3-years, full time, contract

About the Role

Communications and Events Associate is a newly created role for one who has the desire and motivation to grow within our organisation and who wants an exciting opportunity in a time of organisational change for Parkinson’s Queensland Inc (PQI). You will play an integral part in building and maintaining PQI’s communications objectives particularly through our communications platforms, community events and peer to peer activities.

As international adventure travel activities will be a significant responsibility within our peer to peer activities and you will require a level of maturity and ability in line with managing such projects.

You will have worked within the not-for-profit space for over three years and will embody both the culture and ethos that comes with immersing yourself in the philanthropic values of a charity such as Parkinson’s Queensland.

Working with the CEO you will bring critical skills to develop policies and procedures across our business.

The quality of our publications and information materials whether they be ‘hard’ or ‘soft’ must be high; particularly as PQI introduces its web-site. Familiarity with the development and coordination of all copy and strategies for digital and print publications (including social media, EDMs, campaign launch content, print magazines, etc.).

Bringing an understanding of skills in mapping and planning to PQI’s website development and digital media strategy through research into competitors’ sites and functionality, content review and search optimisation based off organisational objectives will be an asset in your role. PQI’s new website will use Umbraco. The website will be your most important project as it becomes the window to all of PQI’s future.
