Networking Lunch (Sydney): How to Achieve Successful Public Policy Outcomes

The Networking

We invite you to take a couple of hours out of your day to connect with others in the industry to discuss high level topics of real importance, develop new relationships and gain critical information. This is a rare opportunity to network with other CEOs and senior management professionals from charities, associations and other non-profit organisations. Ample opportunity will be given for you to discuss issues and network with others.

The Topic
Members often don't value advocacy, unless it fails! The 24 hour media cycle and governments reliance on multiple independents and small parties to deliver their policy agenda is making the job of industry associations and other not-for-profits harder than ever.

Attend this event to hear Kate Carnell, CEO of Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), discuss the strategy ACCI have undertaken to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes with government. By addressing real problems, discovering what success looks like, deciphering data and finding out what members truly think, the ACCI is a shining example of advocacy excellence.

The Speaker
Kate Carnell, CEO at Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Kate Carnell commenced as CEO of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) in May 2014. ACCI, Australia's largest and most representative business organisation, is the leading voice of business in Australia advocating for over 300,000 organisations across all industries. Kate is well known and respected in the not-for-profit and business communities having served two years as CEO of Beyondblue and four years as CEO of the Australian Food and Grocery Council.

Kate was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2006 for her services to community through contributions to economic development and support for the business sector, knowledge industries, the medical sector and medical technology advances.
