The Migration Institute of Australia (MIA) is the leading association for migration professionals in Australia. We support our members through advocacy, professional development, technical resources, industry updates, networking opportunities and representation across the migration profession.
We're looking for an enthusiastic and results-driven Membership Growth Consultant to help attract new members, strengthen member engagement and support member retention initiatives.

About the role
You'll play a key role in growing MIA membership through proactive outreach, relationship building and member engagement activities. Working with prospective, current and former members, you'll promote the value of MIA membership, generate new membership opportunities and support member retention and renewal initiatives.
This role combines sales, relationship management and customer engagement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys speaking with people and creating positive outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Support membership growth by contacting prospective members via telephone, email and other communication channels
- Assist with member retention activities, including renewal reminders and follow-up communications
- Engage with current and prospective members for membership acquisition and retention purposes
- Contact lapsed and expired members to encourage renewal
- Record, track and report member feedback, including insights from expired and lapsed members
- Assist the Membership Team with administrative and operational tasks as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or a related field, or equivalent practical sales experience
Experience and Skills
- Demonstrated experience meeting or exceeding sales quotas in a B2B or B2C environment
- Minimum of 1-2 years of sales experience, preferably within professional services
- Proven ability to independently prospect, cold call and build a healthy pipeline from scratch
- Strong negotiation skills with a history of managing complex sales cycles
- Confidence speaking with people over the phone and building rapport
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- High-level written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of the migration sector (desirable)
