P&Cs Qld is the peak body and membership organisation for more than 1,200 Parents & Citizens Associations and over 58,000 volunteers across Queensland state schools. We are seeking an experienced Corporate Affairs Officer to support the delivery of our corporate communications, media, marketing and brand activities.

About the role
The Corporate Affairs Officer is responsible for coordinating and creating engaging communications across digital, social media, email, publications, campaigns and corporate materials, ensuring P&Cs Queensland presents a consistent, professional and contemporary voice to members, stakeholders and the broader community.
Working closely with the General Manager and CEO, the Corporate Affairs Officer will also support P&Cs Queensland's external profile by identifying relevant media and communication opportunities, preparing media materials and ensuring senior leaders are appropriately briefed. This is a hands-on role suited to an energetic and motivated communications, marketing, public relations or corporate affairs professional who enjoys creating content, managing multiple communication channels and turning organisational activity into clear and engaging stories.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain awareness of issues and developments relevant to P&Cs Queensland and its members
- Assist the CEO and General Manager with research, briefing notes, key messages and communication materials
- Develop, coordinate and publish corporate communications across P&Cs Queensland channels
- Draft and edit content including member communications, EDMs, website content, newsletters, articles, corporate updates and campaign materials
- Manage the day-to-day operation of all P&Cs Queensland's social media channels
- Develop and schedule engaging social media content and campaigns as designed by the strategic plan
- Monitor relevant media, government announcements, sector developments and emerging issues for potential communication or media opportunities
- Prepare media releases, media statements, talking points, key messages and briefing materials for approval
- Develop communication and marketing campaigns supporting organisational priorities, events, programs and services
- Support the consistent application of P&Cs Queensland's brand across internal and external communications
About you
- Experience using platforms such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar design tools
- Basic photography, video and short-form digital content creation capability
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to adapt content for different audiences and channels
- Attention to detail and ability to proofread and produce professional written material
- Ability to organise competing priorities and deliver work to deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively while also taking ownership of day-to-day tasks
- Qualification, or near completion of a qualification, in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, media or a related discipline (desirable)
- Experience with email marketing platforms, content management systems or CRM-based communications (desirable)
- Previous communications, marketing, PR or media experience gained through employment, internships, university projects, volunteering or similar activities (desirable)
- An interest in education, community organisations, membership organisations or the not-for-profit sector (desirable)
