    Topic: Notifiable Data Breaches Scheme

Privacy law is particularly relevant for not-for-profits, with organisations having access to membership databases, event participant details, donor details, and other information. However, is your organisation aware of its current privacy obligations?

The passing of the Privacy Amendment (Notifiable Data Breaches) Act 2017 (Cth) (Amendment Act) on 13 February 2017, which came into effect in February 2018, has introduced the “notifiable breaches scheme”, which is a new regime for organisations subject to privacy law.

John will provide an overview of privacy law for not-for-profits, as well as explaining how the new notifiable breaches scheme may affect your organisation, and how you can prepare.

    Presenter: John Vaughan-Williams
