Amplify Alliance Australia is the national peak body representing more than 900 Not for Profit organisations delivering human and social services across the country. We advocate for our members, influence government policy and provide the practical support NFP organisations need to strengthen the communities they serve.

We are seeking an experienced Advocacy, Representation & Engagement Advisor to lead member engagement and government relations across the critical determinants of social well-being including Jobs, Home, Learning, Health, Social Justice and Social Connection.

This is an exciting opportunity to become a trusted representative for our members, working directly with government departments, ministers' offices, policy makers and sector leaders to ensure the voices of Australia's Not for Profit organisations are heard.

About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager Operations, you will:

  • Build trusted relationships with member organisations across your portfolio.
  • Represent Amplify Alliance in meetings with Commonwealth and State Government departments and sector stakeholders.
  • Develop evidence-informed advocacy positions, submissions and policy papers.
  • Identify emerging policy issues and opportunities affecting the sector.
  • Translate member insights into practical advocacy and government engagement strategies.
  • Work collaboratively across the organisation to strengthen Amplify Alliance's national influence.

About You
You are a confident relationship builder who understands how government and the Not for Profit sector operate.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in advocacy, stakeholder engagement, public policy or government relations.
  • Experience engaging with government departments, ministers' offices or public sector decision-makers.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Excellent written skills, including the ability to prepare high-quality submissions and briefing papers.
  • An understanding of Australia's human and social services and Not for Profit sector.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification.

Experience across the employment, family, women and children policy portfolios will be highly regarded.
