Changes to Privacy Laws Relevant to Not-for-Profits
There have been several changes to privacy laws in the recent years, as relevant to not-for-profits. The most significant of these changes have been the introduction of the notifiable data breaches scheme, as well as the EU General Data Protection Regulation and further legislative changes being proposed in 2019. If you work in the not-for-profit sector and wish to gain a better understanding of how these changes could affect your organisation, then this session will be relevant for you.

John Vaughan Williams, Associate Not-for-Profit, Mills Oakley Lawyers
John is an associate with a background in the not-for-profit sector, and has a specialised knowledge of the legal issues relating to charities and not-for-profit organisations.
John is a published author on charity law in Volume 37, No 1 (2016) of the Adelaide Law Review, and has presented for both the Australasian Society of Association Executives and the Associations Forum on legal issues relevant to not-for-profit law. He was also a witness in the public hearings on the Senate’s Select Committee on Charity Fundraising in the 21st Century, to provide his legal expertise in charitable fundraising law.
