Sustainability, climate change, global goals, sustainable development, living standards framework, social impact. We’re hearing these terms a lot but what do they mean and why are they important for associations & their members in Aotearoa New Zealand?

Jessica from The Tenth Letter will be hosting a session on the fundamentals of sustainability and social impact for association event organisers.

This 3 hour session is designed to build a basic understanding of sustainability & social impact, and provide practical solutions for those wanting to introduce impact initiatives into their association.

We can register for you, just send Brett an email

As an FYI for you, Jess will be covering:

  • Sustainability definitions, common language, our event impacts
  • Reducing our event footprint; waste & recycling pathway
  • Event impacts, event legacies, CSR, Living Standards Framework, Global Goals – why these are important to understand
  • Pathway to creating sustainable events
  • The 5 phases of impact

Social Impact + Sustainability for events + business event

Two years ago, sitting in a conference room in Ljubljana Slovenia Jess had the lightbulb moment. The moment when you listen to a speaker, hear an idea, a new concept, and you realise after all this time, this is your opportunity to make a difference. The lightbulb moment was social impact! Creating greater connections and social change between business events and communities. Measurable, tangible change.

Jess has spent a brief 16 years in the business events sector in New Zealand and Australia. Developing Tourism New Zealand’s first social impact programme Conference Impact Aotearoa.

In late 2020, Jess decided to start by own consultancy (yes, during a pandemic). For me I saw an opportunity to support, educate, and help tell our story better. My business is projects, social impact, communications.

The AuSAE Team hope to see you at this special event!
