Networking Lunch (Brisbane): Solving the Strategic Planning Puzzle
This event is now closed for online registrations, if you are interested in attending please email events@ausae.org.au.
The Networking
We invite you to take a couple of hours out of your day to connect with others in the industry to discuss high level topics of real importance, develop new relationships and gain critical information. This is a rare opportunity to network with other CEOs and senior management professionals from charities, associations and other non-profit organisations. Ample opportunity will be given for you to discuss issues and network with others.
The Topic
Making sure a ship is sailing in the right direction is hard enough. But try doing it without a map! Unfortunately, too many of us are sailing blind.
Bicycle Network used to have an iterative strategy – it evolved as things changed. With things changing constantly it made some sense. But as Dwight D Eisenhower said, ‘In preparing for battle I have always found that plans are useless, but planning is indispensable.’
So while we all knew we had to change the world, the problem was not everyone knew where we were heading: so we sorted out our strategy.
In this session the mysteries of preparing a strategy are unravelled. Using the Bicycle Network experience, you’ll find out what questions your association needs to answer and how to present your strategy so everyone knows where you’re going.
The Speaker
Craig Richards, Chief Executive Officer at Bicycle Network
Craig leads an amazing team of people who are striving to make the world better. Physical activity is vital for a long, happy life. So Bicycle Network's strategy is to make bike riding easy for everyone.
As the CEO, Craig’s role is to provide direction, get the best out of the team and make sure everyone is on track. Craig says the title means nothing unless he inspires the team to do things they didn’t think they could.
Craig sums up how he feels about his job with this quote, ‘To love what you do and feel that it matters, how can anything else be more fun.’
