In this dynamic, interactive session, Simone Douglas will challenge association professionals to shift from outdated engagement models to a member-first, digitally-aligned strategy. Drawing on personality profiling and real-world insights, she’ll explore how today’s emerging members think, behave, and connect—beyond generational stereotypes. You’ll walk away with practical tools to future-proof your engagement pathways and take part in a hands-on group exercise using Edward de Bono’s Six Hats Thinking to reimagine what a truly modern member experience could look like. |

Association Story - Mitch Wall, General Manager, Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association (APNA) Mitch brings to APNA his significant experience in the media, marketing and logistics industries. Having worked in the aftermath of natural disasters and terrorist attacks, Mitch is acutely aware of the important role nurses play in the recovery and maintenance of a healthy society. Supported by a team of communications, production and marketing professionals, Mitch leads the Membership, Engagement, Education and Placements Team. Mitch and the team are adapting APNA’s membership and education offering to the changing needs of Australia’s primary health care nurses both during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. |

Association Story - Matt Kealley, Senior Manager Membership Engagement & Innovation, CANEGROWERS As the Senior Manager for Membership Engagement and Innovation at CANEGROWERS, Matt’s key areas include industry engagement, sustainable sugar, and innovation including blockchain technology and behavioural science. Matt has an Environmental Science background and a broad base of experience within the biotechnology, environmental, agricultural, and communications sectors. Matt’s early years were spent on water quality and vegetation management in Western Australia. He moved to Queensland in 2004 and has been working within the biotech and agricultural industries on challenging projects that included the registration of new products with the APVMA, the commercialisation of natural insecticides, and the complexities of biofuels, GM crops, and infrastructure within the Australian grains industry. | ![]() |
