About the Organisation:
Planning Institute Australia (PIA) is the leading professional body for urban and regional planners. The organisation provides events, education programs, and policy and advocacy campaigns for members to inspire planners and elevate their role in shaping Australia’s future. 

About the Role:

This is an opportunity to support the delivery of major events, online learning programs, and key partnerships across PIA. Working closely with the Head of Events, Learning, and Partnerships, you’ll coordinate with the Events Assistant and other teams to deliver high-quality industry events, develop partnerships, and support learning initiatives.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the delivery of PIA’s annual events program, including conferences and major industry events
  • Maintaining strong relationships with sponsors, partners, and other key stakeholders
  • Supporting the development and promotion of PIA’s learning programs, including on-demand learning
  • Assisting with event marketing and communication materials using Canva and other tools
  • Ensuring smooth database management and reporting through systems like iMIS and EventsAir

To be successful you will have:

  • Proven experience in event management, ideally for professional conferences
  • Experience working within the Not-for-Profit or Membership and Associations sectors is preferred
  • Strong project management skills with the capability to take initiative and collaborate within a skilled events team
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills, and the ability to build and maintain positive professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Highly organised with excellent time management and multitasking abilities
  • Familiarity with EventsAir, iMIS, Canva, and other digital platforms, is desirable
